Crown and Bridge

Crowns are also used to restore or improve the appearance of damaged, discolored, misshaped or poorly spaced teeth. Treatment involves two phases, including preparation of the tooth and completion of treatment. In preparing a tooth for a crown, some of the tooth above the gum line is removed to create the foundation for the crown.
Bridges are dental crowns that replace a section of missing teeth. Dr. Goldasich will discuss with you the material that will best work with your lifestyle. Bridges help restore the natural contour of teeth. There are several types of bridges that Dr. Goldasich can restore for you, including conventional fixed bridges, cantilever bridges and resin bonded bridges. Treatment involves two phases, including preparation of the teeth and completion of treatment. In preparing a teeth for a bridge, some of the tooth above the gum line is removed to create the foundation for the bridge. The missing tooth will have a pontic (a tooth fabricated to sit above the gum line) that has two crowns connected on opposite sides.
